About CaringFAN

Built on the idea that care is a two-way street.

Caring For Americas Nurses (CaringFAN) is a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the bond between communities and the nurses who serve them.

Our mission

To build a stronger, more direct connection between community and nursing — so nurses are known, supported, and never carrying the weight alone, and so neighbors always have someone in their corner.

Why we started

CaringFAN was founded to close a simple but persistent gap: nurses are the most trusted profession in the country, yet the relationship between nurses and the communities they serve is often thin, one-directional, and under-resourced. We're building the infrastructure — programs, peer networks, and local partnerships — to change that, starting in Texas.

What we believe

Nurses shouldn't carry it alone

Support for nurses should come from their communities, not just their employers.

Local, not top-down

Every Texas community is different. Our programs are built town by town, led by the people in them.

Trust is built, not assumed

We measure success by real relationships formed — not just events held.

Governance

A young organization, built in the open.
